Elementary & Middle School

  • CCIU's Summer Career Academies provide a wide range of enrichment and career exploration opportunities to students during the summer. One-week academies at school-based and off-site locations are held in June and July for rising 6th through rising 9th graders. Each academy addresses specific interests and skills. Academies are funded through student tuition.

    The Summer Career Academies will run with the following schedule:
    Week of June 24 - TCHS Pennock's Bridge
    Week of July 8 - TCHS Pickering
    Weeks of July 15 and July 22 - TCHS Brandywine

    Registration opens January 23rd at 8pm. 


Culinary Camp

  • Spice up your summer with our Culinary Camp. With our experienced instructors, you’ll explore the secrets of cooking and receive valuable insights into the culinary arts. Our Culinary Camp teaches campers all the necessary techniques needed to follow recipes, prep food and cook delicious dishes. Activities include orientation to equipment use, baking through good techniques, preparation in cooking and presentation, and more!

Career Academies

Academy Description
Aerospace Exploration An introduction to aerodynamics, astrodynamics, robotics, propulsion systems, and aircraft design, as well as an in-depth study of structures and materials.
Animal Science Explore the amazing world of animal science. This is for the animal enthusiast who may be considering a future working with animals. Learn the health care, grooming, physiology, and training of large and small animals.
Commercial & Graphic Arts Learn the basics of design, color theory, page layout, lettering and production skills to create a portfolio of work using computer graphic design skills.
Computer Technology Technology careers are in high-demand and changing rapidly. Computer networking and programming are highly desirable skills that translate into a lifetime of a job you love. This program introduces computer science and troubleshooting.
Cosmetology Explore the world of beauty by learning the latest, hair, skin and nail trends in a salon setting using of the tools of trade. Learn step-by-step manis, pedis, facials and hair styles. An introduction to careers in cosmetology and barbering will also be discussed.
Criminal Investigation Learn to conduct surveillance operations, finger print and gathering evidence. Enhance your understanding and gain a foundation for a possible career in the criminal sciences and emergency management. If you have good judgment and want to protect and serve, write yourself a ticket for success and explore this program.
Education Explorers Have you considered becoming a teacher or childcare provider? Working well with children can lead to a career in education. Learn what teachers learn. Create and teach a lesson plan. Hear from experienced teachers who inspire others.
Electronics & Robotics Working in pairs, build a robot utilizing LEGO Mindstorm kits. Program your robot to move, react, and make sounds to solve challenges. Investigate electronic components, including circuits, wiring, and more.
Game Design Don't just play games, MAKE them! Using free game design programs, create your own dynamic game while learning the importance of mathematical and computational design. Build your own game and play a friends in this fun and interactive camp.
Health Career Pathways Do you like helping others and have thought of going into health-related career? If you answered yes, you should attend this health careers camp which introduces to a variety of health careers. Participants will also be CPR/First Aid Certified.
Home Remodeling Home remodeling begins with the basics of carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills. Using the tools of the trade master the skills of contracting in fun hands-on activities.
Mobile App Coding Discover how to program an iOS and/or android app. Throughout the course, students will explore fundamental programming concepts and use these to create a basic app. Instructors will help the kids along the way, ensuring that they are able to get through the more challenging parts of programming.
Tomorrow's Millionaires This entrepreneurial and innovative program focuses on creating new products or business or social ventures that can help change the world. Those with an aptitude for providing a financially secure future for themselves and others will find this program to be a solid investment (Brandywine Campus only).
