BrainSTEPS is a child and adolescent brain injury school re-entry program. This program is working to ensure that those who provide educational support to children with acquired brain injuries, or those previously identified as having a brain injury have access to best practice information. The supports and interventions, designed from researched-based practices, are provided to help these students achieve educational success through consultative services. The BrainSTEPS Consultants are professionals from various disciplines who have received extensive training on educating students with Traumatic Brain Injury and can provide the following:
- Consultation with School and Medical Professionals
- School Re-entry Planning
- Guidance on Educational Programming
- Long-term Monitoring
- Training and Support for District Personnel
BrainSTEPS Teams are funded statewide by the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania and is in partnership with the Bureau of Special Education and PaTTAN. Referrals to the Chester County BrainSTEPS Team can be made at www.BrainSTEPS.net.
