    The West Chester Area School District (WCASD) Board of Directors seeks an outstanding educational leader to apply to be its next superintendent of schools. The board, staff and community are looking for a visionary leader to engage the hearts and minds of all of our students through relevant high-quality learning experiences that prepare them to be active twenty-first century citizens in a global society, and to promote a community of encouragement and a culture of excellence.


    The West Chester Area School District serves a 75-square-mile suburban, urban and rural region in central Chester County, Pennsylvania, known for its many diversified businesses and beautiful historic countryside. The district is comprised of West Chester Borough and the surrounding townships of East Goshen, West Goshen, East Bradford, West Whiteland, Westtown and Thornbury in Chester County, as well as Thornbury Township in Delaware County.


    The WCASD Board of Directors is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader who has a strong academic background and experience managing an administrative team. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills and strong leadership in proactive decision-making and consensus-building.


    The WCASD is offering a multiyear contract that features a regionally competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates must possess, or be eligible for, a Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. The target date for employment is January 1, 2024. The deadline for applications is August 1, 2023, and the review of applications will begin in August.
